Find Out What Happened When I Ate Rat in Battambang, Cambodia

If you've been to Cambodia, you know there are a number of exotic foods that are available as part of the local cuisine. [And if you haven't been, well, now you know!] You can have anything from ants added to a dish for a sour flavor, a handful of crispy crickets, or even some juicy tarantula to snack on.  And in addition to birds like duck and quail, one can also make a meal of local field rat.  So, when I was traveling through Cambodia and there was an opportunity to have some barbequed rat in Battambang, I decided not to pass it up. Here is the journey of from grill to mouth...

This is how I felt about eating rat

I have to say, I would eat rat again! It was definitely juicier than chicken!

I hope you find yourself trying rat the next time you're in Cambodia and do be sure to let me know how you think it tastes!

Bon voyage!
