Get to Know EatMyTrip of Barcelona, Spain

During my June 2016 trip to Barcelona, I had the pleasure of crossing paths with Genia, a Moscow native with a background in IT and construction project management.  Like me, she not only got bit by the travel bug (which was unusual in her family), she decided her passion was no longer in corporate work, but in her palette! And with the inspirations from her travel, she decided to put her passion to the test and started baking confectionary delights.  This was the birth of EatMyTrip.

Genia, after studying for a few years in Madrid, and mastering her third language, Spanish, fell in love with Barcelona and made the move a year ago.  But before settling in, she decided it would be her greatest adventure to hitchhike from St. Petersburg, Russia to Barcelona, Spain, covering 17 cities in 20 days, meeting tons of interesting people, couch surfing and having the experience of a lifetime, which ultimately gave her the confidence and passion to set out exploring the things that interested her most.  EatMyTrip combines the inspiration from her worldly travels and experiences into sweet delectable custom cakes and treats.

Having the opportunity to meet Genia and hear her story was not only super inspiring, but literally a sweet treat.  If there were any leftovers from her custom orders, Genia was generous to share them with me. Her treats are well developed in flavor and she absolutely understands both texture and ingredient profiles to give you and your palette a delightful experience.  I especially loved her carrot cake and red velvet.
